  • Positive Affirmations for a Better Mental Health

Affirmations are often used by people to help them cope with life’s challenges and empower themselves to take control of their well-being. Here are five positive affirmations to improve your mental health.

“I Love Myself for Who I Am”
This first affirmation is a commonly used but still important one for your daily life. If the stress of the past year has affected your self-esteem, then introduce this confidence boosting statement into your life. When you say or write the statement, “I love myself for who I am,” you may start to have a different perception of yourself and a greater belief that you are special just the way you are.

“I Have Faith in my Abilities”
Another great thing about positive affirmations is that they restore your confidence in achieving goals. That’s why this next affirmation, “I have faith in my abilities,” is an excellent one to live your life. When you repeat this statement to yourself, you start to believe you can achieve anything.

“I Am Strong in Mind, Body and Spirit”
We all experience many obstacles in our lives, the current pandemic being another example. But by focusing on the affirmation, “I am strong in mind, body and spirit,” we are in a better position to overcome our trials and tribulations. Some people credit their relationship with God in helping them to do this. By using this powerful statement in your life, it will become a little easier for you to overcome what you may be facing.

“My Diagnosis Does Not Define Me”
Being diagnosed with a physical or mental illness can be a devastating thing. If you’re struggling with your health, try using this affirmation as your daily motto: “My diagnosis does not define me.” If you’re diagnosed with bipolar disorder, for example, you must say to yourself that you are not a “bipolar girl or boy.” Your diagnosis is what you have, not who you are.

“I Am Worthy of Love and Happiness”
This last positive affirmation to live by reinforces the fact that you are deserving of two things: love and happiness. As humans, we all crave connection and feelings of joy. Try repeating to yourself every day, “I am worthy of love and happiness,” and you will be more likely to receive those feelings in your life.
